Do I have to schedule an appointment?

No. Appointment are not necessarily required. We take both appointments and walk-ins at most locations. Please visit our website locations page for specific location information.

What do I need to bring with me to be fingerprinted?

Your Valid State picture ID, most use their driver’s license as proof of identification. Your transaction number and any paperwork that is required by your agency.

What is a transaction number?

It is a 12-digit number issued to you by the State Agency requesting your background.

Do I need to have a transaction number?

You only need a transaction number if you are using the electronic submission service.

Can Arkansas LiveScan assist me in obtaining my transaction number?

Arkansas LiveScan is approved to initiate backgrounds for several State Agencies. Please inquire with your agency or employer if Arkansas LiveScan can initiate you background and obtain your transaction number.

Do I need to supply my own fingerprint card or does Arkansas LiveScan provide cards?

If you have been provided a fingerprint card by your agency, please bring with you. We use high-quality scanners and printers to scan your fingerprints to cards. We also have fingerprint cards (FD258) available for any customers.

Can Arkansas LiveScan provide me with background results?

No, Arkansas LiveScan does not receive the background results.

Can Arkansas LiveScan submit my fingerprints electronically to another state.

Not currently. We are actively working to provide this service. Most States accept fingerprint print cards (FD258).

I went to the Fort Smith location. Both of the ladies that helped me were very sweet and welcoming. My fingerprints were taken quickly, and the lady helped me through the process. The front desk receptionist was very warm and made me feel welcome before my prints were done. I will go back and recommend it to friends and family!
